Swedish manufacturing company Alfa Laval is extending its range of valve-related offerings to clients in the industrial, home and food and beverage sectors, with its new leakage detection butterfly valve (LDBV), Unique Mixproof valves and the Unique SSV pressure relief valve, says valves and automation portfolio manager Paw Kramer.

The Alfa Laval LDBV is the “ideal solution” for maintaining performance, as its integrated leakage detection enables “rapid responses”, while its single seal, disc and actuator make it lightweight. It can fit into clean-in-place (CIP) systems and, when paired with Alfa Laval’s ThinkTop solution, incorporates real-time monitoring and control capabilities, thereby enhancing performance and reliability.

Additionally, the company is introducing two new valve sizes for the Unique Mixproof CIP and Unique Mixproof process valves: the 1-inch (DN25) and 1½-inch (DN40). These smaller, double-seat valves offer adaptability, high cleanability and pressure resistance to meet diverse hygienic processing needs.

Further, the Alfa Laval Unique SSV pressure relief valve helps protect hygienic processing lines from overpressure, particularly those lines that incorporate positive displacement pumps.

When pairing it with the ThinkTop, it helps enhance process efficiency, productivity and safety. Built on the proven SSV platform – with “easy-to-adjust” pressure relief setpoints – the modular valve shares spare parts with other Unique SSV valves, simplifying maintenance and reducing service costs.

“The latest additions to Alfa Laval’s valve portfolio demonstrate our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of industries where safety, efficiency and reliability are paramount,” says Kramer.

With the Unique SSV pressure relief valve, LDBV and smaller Unique Mixproof CIP and process valves, Alfa Laval continues to provide “practical, high-quality valves that enhance operational performance across a broad spectrum of applications”.

“By prioritising product and equipment safety in combination with efficiency and reliability, we continue to support manufacturers in the dairy, food, beverage, and home and personal care industries. These additions provide manufacturers with greater flexibility to customise valve solutions to meet their processing requirements,” concludes Kramer.
